Abstract
Trinity College is located in Connecticut's capital city of Hartford, which opens opportunities for student engagement with the city. Through participation in Community Learning Courses or Hartford Internships, both of which can be counted for course credit during a student's undergraduate years, students have the opportunity to be active in Hartford and the community. This research paper seeks to compare these student experiences and asks how do perceptions of Hartford vary among Trinity students, and are there differences between those who enrolled in Community Learning Courses verses Career Development internships? Relying on qualitative interviews with Trinity College juniors and seniors, this paper highlights important similarities as well as differences between the impact of these experiences on students.
