Abstract

This research investigates the motives behind the construction of a new capital in Egypt. The thesis explores the Egyptian Armed Forces intervention in the urban economy, the governmental urban designs, and the urban planning of Egypt's New Administrative Capital as potential motives for El-Sisi's regime.
